It's a Tie! Best Contributed Presentation Award Winners
The Section on Teaching of Statistics in the Health Sciences is pleased to announce the winners of the section’s Best Contributed Presentation Awards for JSM 2017. They are as follows:
Kari Lock Morgan, Penn State University, for her presentation titled “Redesigning Introduction to Biostatistics”
Leah Welty, Northwestern University, for her presentation titled “StatTag: a New Tool for Conducting Reproducible Research in Clinical and Translational Science”
Kari is an Assistant Professor in her university’s Department of Statistics. Her research interests include statistics education and causal inference. Leah is an Associate Professor in her university’s Department of Preventive Medicine. Her research interests include the application of biostatistics to psychiatry and environmental research, and the development of reproducible research tools for clinical and translational science. Both of them will receive an award certificate and a cash award. They will also be recognized at the TSHS mixer this year in Vancouver.
