Tremendous Success? We think so too!

The October Amstat News has their recap of the the 2018 JSM in Vancouver. Their verdict -- It was Tremendous Success! We agree. Please enjoy these photos that we caught.

Sights of Vancouver

What a beautiful city! While the temperatures felt quite normal for a summer day for many folks in the US, it was apparently a heat wave for folks on the northern Pacific coast.

TSHS Talks

There were many great talks sponsored, or co-sponsored, by TSHS. If there was a presentation from TSHS that you missed or want to see again, check our website. Many of the slide decks are posted there for TSHS members. * Need help finding it on the website? Detailed instructions are at the end of the post below *

TSHS Posters

Posters are a great way to get some good one-on-one discussion about your project. Not sure you want to give a talk in 2019? Consider presenting a poster.

Mixer and Business Meeting

The business meeting gives the executive committee a chance to check in with the TSHS members -- it's a good time to share news, budgets, awards, and of course prizes! It's always a good time with good food and conversation.

Executive Committee Meeting

The TSHS Executive Committee meets monthly by phone, but at JSM they take the opportunity to meet in person. Minutes will be shared in the fall report from the Secretary/Treasurer.

TSHS Information Booth

This year again, the TSHS information booth was neighboring the Section on Statistics Education information booth. It was a great way to meet folks teaching all kinds of learners.

Not caught on film

Somehow no photos were taken of the continuing education course on meta-analysis or of the round tables. And, of course, there were plenty of other opportunities for folks in TSHS to gather and chat.

What was your favorite part of the 2018 JSM? Please share it in the comments below.

Have you implemented something that you learned at JSM? Or was there a great talk or session that inspired you. Please send a note to the blog editor. It would be great to hear about learning put into action.

Details for finding TSHS slides online

JSM attendees can access all slide decks from speakers who gave their permission to share. However, many of the speakers at TSHS sponsored talks gave permission to share their slide decks to TSHS members. Follow this link to the TSHS website. Or, copy and paste: http://community.amstat.org/tshs/ourlibrary?DefaultView=folder

You will need to log-in to view the files. When there, for easy viewing, be sure to choose folder view (red star in screenshot). Then look for the JSM 2018 folder (blue star in the screenshot).
