2026 Call for Dataset Submissions
Do you have a health sciences dataset suitable for teaching that you would like to share with fellow statistics instructors? We'd love to have it! Adding a dataset to our portal is a great contribution to teaching, helps build your teaching portfolio, and offers an opportunity to get involved with the American Statistical Association (ASA) Section on Teaching of Statistics in the Health Sciences (TSHS).
Please consider submitting your dataset to the TSHS Resources Portal (https://www.causeweb.org/tshs/). Our Portal is a publicly accessible, easy to use, repository of peer-reviewed health sciences-related datasets specifically intended for teaching. All datasets have an associated published citation in the health sciences and include essential companion materials needed for teaching: abstract, introduction, data dictionary and a published citation. Downloads are available in any of six formats: Excel, R, SAS, Stata, SPSS and Minitab.
We will work with you. Our team will answer questions, review and help edit the submission, and assist you in getting it ready.
Datasets should be based on a journal publication in the health sciences. Submitters must have obtained permission to share the corresponding dataset, after deidentification. Rich datasets, those for which multiple types of analyses can be done, will be given priority.
Qualifying students are eligible to apply for a $500 stipend. In 2026, the TSHS is sponsoring two (2) $500 stipends to be used to compensate graduate students assisting in the preparation of a portal dataset, including any required revisions. In addition to sharing great datasets, this is an opportunity for members wanting to mentor students. Also, since datasets are peer reviewed, the submitters can list the submission as a publication on their CVs. Student applicants must have identified a faculty mentor who has access to an appropriate dataset and is committed to working with the student on the submission. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis.
